In Speed, each player is dealt a hand of five cards and 15 cards face down to form a draw pile. For games including jokers, these wild cards can be used as substitutes and the draw pile consists of 16 cards. Additionally, there are replacement piles on each side with five face-down cards and two center cards placed between them.

To play a card, you must discard it in the "Play Pile" if it is one number or value higher or lower than the top card on that pile. For example, you can place a 5 on a 6 or a 4, or a Queen on a King or Jack. Certain special rules apply, such as being able to play a 2 on an Ace and vice versa.

Players are allowed to have up to 5 cards in their hands at any given time. When your hand has fewer than 5 cards, you can draw from your "Draw Pile" to replenish your hand strategically.

The ultimate goal in Speed is to be the first player to empty their hand of cards completely. This simple yet addictive gameplay mechanic keeps players engaged and motivated throughout each match.
